Tennis String FAQs
Which tennis string is best for me? Polyester suits big hitters who want control and spin; multifilament and natural gut offer comfort and power for arm-friendly play; hybrids combine both.
What string tension should I use? Lower tension (around 48–52lb) gives more power; higher tension (54–60lb) gives more control. Most club players start in the low 50s.
How often should I restring? A common rule is to restring as many times per year as you play per week — strings lose tension and response even if they don't break.
