Balance determines whether your racket is head heavy, even or head light.
Flexibility ranges from 0 – 100%, the higher the percentage, the chance of generating power in your shot.
Total Weight is the unstrung weight of the racket as measured by Yonex Precision Scan. Heavier rackets generate more power.
Swing Weight is measured by the swinging of the racket at a specific speed. A lighter swing weight can lead to more control.
Performance Swing Weight considers the weight, balance and swing weight to give you an effective estimate of the power behind your racket.

The Yonex Nanoflare 800 Play is a strung, speed-focused badminton racket built for players who want the quickest drive shots. It is the Play-level progression of the standard Yonex Nanoflare 800, bringing Nanoflare speed and repulsion to an accessible price, here in Deep Green, 4U G5. It launched globally on November 17, 2023.
You can order it through the Central Sports online webshop or from our racket sports store in Birmingham.
Key Features
- Built for speed – designed for the modern game, where rapid drive shots take control of the rally.
- Enhanced Sonic Flare System and Wide Profile Frame – Nanoflare DNA that boosts repulsion, handling and the pace of your shots.
- Semi-exposure design – semi-exposed carbon graphite stripes give a distinctive look that reflects its speed-oriented design.
- Isometric head – a larger sweet spot and improved accuracy on off-centre hits.
- Medium shaft – a versatile response across a range of shots.
- Pre-strung – ready to play, with the option to customise to your string and tension preference.
Performance Overview
The moderately head-light balance and Sonic Flare System keep the 800 Play fast through the air for drives, blocks and interceptions, while still giving enough support behind your shots. Compared with the Nanoflare 800 Game, the Play focuses on affordability: it uses different materials in the shaft and frame and does not include the Game's updated string pattern, giving a classic feel with modern enhancements. It still keeps the signature playing style of the Nanoflare series.
Who Is It For?
Players looking to upgrade their game with more speed and precision – improvers, social and club players who like a fast, front-court, defensive or deceptive style.
